Meet Hudson H. Brace
For the past nineteen years, from moments of pure necessity to times of inspired and personal interest, I have attempted to cultivate a wide spectrum of influences in the works that I create. Being self-taught in my many fields of craft has allowed for an extensive base of conceptual techniques and design, everything from Native American and regional belief and my own Celtic heritage, to the Spanish & Mexican masters of leathercraft & lapidary.

A Little History
During many years of traveling the United States I have striven to accumulate knowledge & interests, never satisfied in the concept of there being only one right way to do something. When I feel I have gained what I can from a region (at least for the time) I move to the next lesson on my path always striving to "see what is over the next rise." To name all of my favorite haunts would be unnecessary but some of the prominent ones are Maine in the east, Washington State and British Columbia, Canada to the west, Michigan, Minnesota, Wisconsin & North Dakota in the north central region. I have also spent a great deal of time in the southwest reveling in the desert & mountains of Arizona, Utah, Colorado and New Mexico where I have resided for over 4 years in order to establish myself & my work. In that time I have attended many local arts & crafts shows ranging from the local southwestern events to some of the Renaissance and Celtic Faires. My work has recently been seen at several galleries & shops such as Hoshoni of New York, NY, Andrews Pottery of Old Town Albuquerque and Ambiente of Corrales also in several publications such as Mademoiselle, Cosmopolitan, Cowboys & Indians Magazine & Elle Magazine (April 2002).

About My Partner
My partner and fellow designer, Mary J. Hardy was raised in New Mexico and has worked in the local jewerly and fashion world for over 15 years, her experience combined with original ideas has contributed to many of our works. We currently enjoy living in Corrales, New Mexico with our dog Sasha and our 7 cats who always inspire us along with the "Enchanted Southwest"
